How can I find a job at a loss-adjusting firm?

My roof was damaged in a recent typhoon. Will a Loss Adjuster come to inspect it?

If you have general insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company. You can find your insurance company's contact information in your insurance policy documents. A Loss Adjuster will be assigned by your insurance company to assess the damage. Please note that if you do not have general insurance coverage, we will not be able to assist you.

Someone claiming to be an investigator came to my house. Is he a member of The Loss Adjusting Association of Japan?

Please check his business card and verify whether his company is listed in the member directory of The Loss Adjusting Association of Japan. If it is not listed, he is not a Loss Adjuster affiliated with a member company of the Association.

My house was damaged by a typhoon (or earthquake). A contractor is pressuring me to sign a contract so they can negotiate with my insurance company and carry out repairs. Is this legitimate?

Do not sign a contract with the contractor. Instead, immediately notify your insurance company about the situation. This contractor may be attempting to fraudulently obtain your insurance payout, so depending on the circumstances, you may also want to consult the police or other relevant authorities.
